The Relevance of the Holy Bible Today

“Why We (Humans) Do What We Do”

I will get into how God, Eve, Cain and Abel are all related later, but for now I want to talk about the sons of God or the children of God and how even today, they are responsible for, “The Way the World Is.”

The Author of Genesis uses a lot of literary devices, (miraculously so) to tell stories that are meant to teach.

One device used throughout the bible is to give a character a name with a meaning and then use that meaning to “Weave” a story around it.

Another device, which is used in the “Book of Genesis” extensively, is called a Homograph. Homographs are words that are used in such a manner as to give two or more different meanings, where the words have the same spelling, but different meanings, and sometimes different pronunciations.

A good example of homographs are the names ‘Adam and Eve.”

Adam means; ruddy or to show blood (in the {face}); is the name of an individual and is the name of a species called Man.

Eve is the name of a Woman.

The word Eve means to live and it also means; “Life Giver.”

With that in mind, let’s get back to, “Why We (humans) Do What We Do.”

God has “Sons.” The word son means; (a builder of the family {name}) in the widest sense (of literal and figurative {relationship} including {grandson}.

Cain is God’s first born.

When Eve said, “I have gotten a man from the LORD.” She meant, she had gotten a MAN from the LORD.

We’ll talk about that later.

If you need to refresh your memory about the Cain and Abel story open your bible to Genesis, chapter four.

The Author of Genesis took the meanings of Cain’s and Abel’s names and “weaved” a story around them.

The name Cain means; to strike a musical {note} that {is} chant or wail (at a funeral): – {lament}. And, in the original sense of fixity; a lance (as striking fast): – spear.

The name Abel means; emptiness or vanity; figuratively something transitory and unsatisfactory.

I don’t know what to call it, but the Author of Genesis uses yet another literary device which tells one story on the surface, but a different story beneath the surface.

He does this masterfully by using words from the Hebrew language that when translated make perfect sense in the English language! (Amazing)

And so, the story goes like this:

Eve conceived and bare Cain. She said, “I have gotten a man from the LORD.”

Notice that the word LORD is in all capital letters.

She again bare his brother Abel.

When Eve bare Cain, the word “bare” has two meanings. When she “bare” Abel, the word “bare” only has one meaning.

Both Cain and Abel have the “bare” that means; to bear young; beget.

Cain’s extra “bare” has the “SAME” meaning as when God “CREATED” the heaven and the earth!

(In the sense of appearing; a signal (literally or figuratively); miracle.)

Remember, I said that heaven and the earth could be considered “Children of God?” This is why.

Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, (intensely angry, highly incensed, wrathful) and his countenance (facial expression) fell.

Here, on the surface this is a story of two brothers with two different occupations. Their father (The LORD) is showing favor to Abel, creating the first-ever, “Sibling Rivalry!”

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Murder, murder, murder, what we have here is the first murder!

Worst parenting ever, wouldn’t you say?

The LORD proceeds to prescribe a punishment for Cain for killing his step brother Abel.

Cain whines about how too harsh a punishment he was being given, so the LORD does this:

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

We are going to stop here. Here is where the point to this post is.

For CENTURIES, whenever this story has been told the “assumption” has been that the LORD merely stopped anyone from killing Cain.

The “TRUTH” is, like God, Cain and all his descendants are eternal. That’s right, they live forever.

This life form, like God, is “Pure Consciousness.”

Consciousness that permeates our world.

Murder and vanity as is the case with Cain and Abel, are only two of the many toxic “pure conscious” elements floating around up there in the Heavens as well as down here on the Earth.

Our attitudes and behaviors today have their origins from the attitudes and behaviors of life forms from the distant pass.

We as humans do what we do because God, “Pure Consciousness” and the sons of God, “Pure Consciousness” did what they did.

You ever heard the expression, “You are what you eat?  We didn’t eat the god’s bad attitudes and behaviors, we weren’t even there!

But, someone ate something!
